Everspace 2 controller or mouse2/28/2024 fair warning, powershell can be dangerous, dont blame me if you blow up your pc, etc etc. after uninstalling, the flickering in everspace and everspace 2 disappeared, AND the pc will sleep normally now. could this possibly be related to the 'phantom' mouse flickering that was happening in everspace? like, might that not be the thing that was making it appear that the system wasnt inactive, because there were micro mouse movements being reported for some reason? and uninstalling the game bar did in fact fix that problem. the pc was NEVER going into an 'inactive' state. Ceto alone has over 30 Mainframe Expansions to find, and theres plenty of free gear just floating around in space. I was actually doing this to troubleshoot an entirely different problem, my pc refusing to sleep if the controller was plugged in, or even if it was unplugged but had been used previously. The next most-important tip you can take into Everspace 2 is to explore. Each area holds so many hidden wrecks, secret caches, and puzzles that its truly mind-boggling. i used the full 'scorched earth' uninstall following the powershell instructions listed here: I uninstalled the 'xbox game bar' from windows 10. I dont care for keyboard and mouse control because I have to use a keyboard and mouse all day long at work and because the repetitious gameplay using keyboard and mouse causes hand pain. Dont purchase any that dont say that except a few ARPGs. it may or may not fix it for anyone else, but if youre like me and tried all the suggested solutions without success it might be worth a try. Store page says 'full controller support' and is a reason I purchased the game. So, for the curious, i DID finally find something that fixed this problem. Keeping "use touchpad" checked still kept my right analog disabled. DLSS 2.0 is supported, too, as are various flight sticks and HOTAS controllers, though mouse and keyboard or a gamepad work too. I deleted those 2 files with the game closed but oddly enough, none of my settings changed. The retro feel extends to how the open world is designed. While there are console versions on the way and the game is perfectly playable on a gamepad and all sorts of flight sticks, it seems specifically designed around precise keyboard and mouse controls. If this still doesn't do the trick I'm wondering if there are any unneccessary input devices connected you might be able to disconnect. There is a charmingly retro vibe to the way Everspace 2 plays. Let me know if it works (keep the "use tochpad" option checked). The AppData folder might be hidden on your system, but you can quickly go to the AppData\Local folder by typing %localappdata% in a windows explorer address field. Unfortunately this does not work 100% reliably from within the game, but if you delete two ini files you should be back to defaults. The files are GameUserSettings.ini and Input.ini, both of which are located at C:\Users\\AppData\Local\RSG\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor (best delete while the game is closed, then restart the game) You should reset all bindings to defaults. It could very well be a binding conflict.
